LeadersAboriginal elders are essentially the most powerful in any Aboriginal group/community. They pass down important stories and information to the next generation so that Aboriginal communities can keep sacred traditions running for a long time. Aboriginal elders are like royalty, and not showing respect to them is one of the biggest mistakes any person can make. Showing disrespect to Aboriginal elders is totally against Aboriginal culture.

belIefsAboriginal beliefs are based on the reverence for the land, and the belief in the dreamtime. One of the most important Aboriginal beliefs is to look after the land, as the land is what they live off, and everything they make and use comes from the land. Another important belief is that you cannot see or speak of the dead. Legend has it that it disturbs/recalls their spirit from its sleep. This is why there are disclaimers on TV if there are images of an Aboriginal person who has died.
